Before writing this guide I read the letters people actually send with Rosify. More than 41,000 love letters have been written there (up to May 2026), most in Spanish and a couple of hundred in English. The twelve below are real English ones. We changed names and removed anything that could identify someone, and fixed a few typos. The rest is as written, emojis and all.

Video: Love letters: 12 examples for your partner · 1:11Examples to adapt and make your own. A summary of the guide plus a real recording of the Rosify creator.

What 41,000 love letters say

A few numbers from those letters, because they help with writing yours:

What we foundHow many letters
Say "I love you" (or «te amo»)About 6 in 10
Use at least one emojiMore than half
Mention being far apart1 in 7
Tell a specific moment (a day, a first time)Only 4 in 100 in Spanish, about 1 in 10 in English

The typical letter is about 100 words, five or six lines on a phone. That’s enough. What almost nobody does is tell a story: thousands of people write "I love you so much", and one person wrote "a centauri of emotions". That’s why we picked these twelve. Each has at least one line nobody else could have written.

One more thing you’ll notice: most people who write in English on Rosify aren’t native speakers. Some letters are a little clumsy, and that’s part of why they feel real.

Love letters for your partner

Illustrated handwritten love letter about everyday life together
All the letters below can be copied as text.

Back to the first day

For your partner, any day

If I could go back in time, I would go back to the first day I met you to fall in love with you again, to see how you light up my life, to ask you again to be my life partner.

When I say I love your eyes I mean that in your eyes I find a home where my heart can rest. A centauri of emotions where I feel truly alive.

Why it works: Two sentences, one image. "A centauri of emotions" makes no literal sense and that’s exactly why it sticks: nobody else would write it.

The little girl I used to be

Two months together

Happy two months anniversary, my love. It may not seem a lot, but I’ve been the happiest since I was a child and that’s thanks to you.

You’ve brought back the little girl I used to be, the one who thought love had to be taught and was difficult. You take her in your arms and make her feel finally loved and cared for. Even when I overthink, you make me feel special and the only one for you.

I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you with all my heart, which belongs to you and always will. I’ll never leave you, my gentle hard-working boy. You’re my whole universe.

Why it works: She tells him what changed in her, not just what he’s like. "My gentle hard-working boy" is a description only she could give. (The original used her childhood name; we changed it.)

Writing this in English

A little note out of nowhere

I love doing these things, they’re simple, but beautiful (in my opinion!). I love you so much. (I’m writing this in English because, hmmmmmm, idk, I guess it’s easier for you :P)

I’m so grateful to be your girlfriend, and thank you for letting me be a part of your life. I truly have no words to describe the great love and admiration I feel for you. I love you so much.

I hope you have a wonderful day, as beautiful as your pretty face! xxxxx PUPUPUUUU

Why it works: The brackets are the best part: she thinks out loud, admits she isn’t sure, and signs off with a noise. It reads like her voice, not like a card.

Long-distance love letters

Illustrated handwritten letter about a song, a voice and the next hug
One in seven love letters on Rosify is written across a distance.

A thousand miles away

A birthday you can’t spend together

Happy birthday to the cutest boy my eyes have ever seen! I hope you have a lovely day. I wish I could be with you so I could celebrate your birthday and shower you with lots of love.

Remember that you deserve so many beautiful things in life, and that there’s also someone who loves you a thousand miles away. Happy life, darling. I adore you so much! xoxoxo

Why it works: It mentions the distance once, lightly, and moves on. "Happy life" instead of "happy birthday" is a small, warm twist.

Distance doesn’t change anything

Long distance, on their birthday

Even though we’re far away, I want you to know that I think about you all the time. Today is your day, and I would love to hug you and celebrate with you. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I love you more every day.

Distance doesn’t change anything, because my heart is always with you. Thank you for making me so happy, for your love, and for being you. Enjoy your day, because you deserve it more than anyone.

I love you so much. Happy birthday, love, and I hope we can celebrate together soon.

Why it works: Simple and steady. If you write something like this, add the one thing it’s missing: when "soon" is. A date makes the last line a promise.

When we’re finally together

Sent with a flower, before meeting in person

I wonder if anyone has ever given you flowers, or if you have a favorite flower… When we’re finally together, I’ll give you flowers 💐 You deserve the most beautiful flower, I’d even give you the moon and the stars ✨

I love you so much, my love. I dedicate this song to you 😊💗 By your side, I always melt with love. You’re my everything. You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love you, I love you! 🤭

Why it works: It opens with a question ("has anyone ever given you flowers?") and turns the virtual flower into a promise of a real one. That’s the best way to send flowers you can’t hand over.

Letters to say sorry

The apologies that work say what happened. The ones that don’t just repeat "sorry for everything".

I take full accountability

After hurting them

My dearest baby, I am so sorry for all the pain I have been causing you for the last couple of days. I completely understand why you’re mad and you have every right to be mad at me. Just know that I am all yours and I am forever on your side. I am so sorry I failed to show that recently.

I also understand why you felt bad about what he said, and I will make sure he never says anything like that again. I understand all my mistakes and I take full accountability for everything that may have hurt you.

I love you to the moon and back, you are the love of my life, and I will try my best to keep you as happy, fulfilled and comfortable as possible. Please forgive me, my kishmish. I’ll be very good from now on. Mwah mwah mwah.

Why it works: It doesn’t argue. "You have every right to be mad" and "I take full accountability" do more than ten sorries. The pet name at the end ("kishmish" means raisin in Hindi) brings back the warmth.

Sorry for my English

Thank you and sorry, in one

Just to say thank you for always being here for me, and for believing me when I feel down or think bad things.

You are the most important thing in my life ♥️ Thank you for everything, for making me happy when I feel sad or bad. I love you so much, my life.

I’m sorry for my mistakes 😔 I’m not perfect, but I’m going to try to be better for you and our relationship 💯 Remember you are my everything.

Sorry for my English, I’m still learning 😅 you know 😉

Why it works: Writing in someone’s language when it isn’t yours is a gift in itself, and the last line says so without making a fuss. (We fixed a few verbs; the original was rougher and just as sweet.)

Letters for the early days

When you’ve only just started, a love letter can feel like too much. These two get the tone right.

Out of pity

Early days, when you’re still nervous

My dear, I love you so much. With this gift I want to express how much I love and respect you… you know? I feel comfortable and safe with you and I hope the same happens to you.

Sometimes I’m overcome with thoughts that maybe you said yes to me out of pity… I hope not, because I have my interest and my eyes set on you, darling. Don’t let me down, please, and I won’t either.

I really want this to work out. Everything is okay, baby, and that’s fantastic. Thanks for the opportunity. I love you.

Why it works: Admitting a fear ("maybe you said yes out of pity") is risky and very human. It invites the other person to reassure them, which is its own kind of closeness.

Little by little

Yellow flowers for someone you’re getting to know

I wanted to give you these yellow flowers because to me they represent joy, friendship and good wishes. Although we don’t know each other well yet, I like the idea that little by little we’ll share more things and get to know each other better.

I feel you’re a special person, one of those who give off light with their personality, and I’m glad I met you. I hope this flower brings a smile to your face and that every time you see it, you remember that someone thinks of you fondly.

Thank you for being part of my days, even if it’s just a little bit. I hope we can keep spending time together 🏵

Why it works: Not a declaration, not a joke: just honest interest. "Even if it’s just a little bit" keeps it light enough that it can’t go wrong.

Short love letters

Half of the letters on Rosify are under 100 words. These two are shorter than that and still land.

Safe always

Short, for any day

You mean the whole world to me. I would honestly do anything to see you smile. You’re so smart, funny and handsome, and I can’t imagine my life without you.

You bring me so much love and happiness, and I don’t know how I could ever repay you. I love you so, so much. Thank you for being there for me and making me feel loved and safe, always ♥️

Why it works: It names three things ("smart, funny and handsome") instead of one big adjective, and ends on how he makes her feel: safe. Short letters work when they end on a feeling.

You, and only you

A short one that sounds like a poem

You are the object of my affection and my desire. You, and only you, hold the key to my heart. You are everything I want and need; it’s always you and only you.

You are the ray of sunshine I want to wake me up in the mornings, and you are the moon I want to keep me company while I sleep. You, and only you, my sweet prince, I love you infinitely.

Always yours.

Why it works: The repetition ("you, and only you") turns a short note into something with rhythm. Read it aloud and you’ll hear it.

What the best ones have in common

After reading hundreds of letters, the ones that stay with you share three things. None of them is "better writing".

  • Something only the two of you get: a pet name like "kishmish", "a centauri of emotions", the brackets in letter 3. You don’t need to explain it.
  • A small confession: "maybe you said yes out of pity", "sorry for my English", "the little girl I used to be". Admitting something makes the rest believable.
  • A promise you can keep: "when we’re finally together, I’ll give you flowers". Not "forever", but something with a shape.

If you copy one of these letters, swap exactly those three things for your own.

What almost everyone writesWhat one person wrote
"You are very special to me""In your eyes I find a home where my heart can rest"
"I’m sorry for everything""You have every right to be mad at me. I take full accountability"
"I miss you, I wish you were here""I wonder if anyone has ever given you flowers… when we’re finally together, I’ll give you flowers"

A letter can also come with a flower. If you’re not sure which one, the guide to virtual roses explains what each color says, and yellow flowers covers the 21 September tradition.

How to send it

Write it by hand, paste it into the chat, or send it as a virtual letter in Rosify: it opens like a gift and your words appear little by little, as if handwritten.

  1. Copy the letter with "Copy letter" and change the nickname, the memory and the promise.
  2. Open the Rosify creator, pick a gift, type their name and paste your text.
  3. Check the preview. A finished gift can’t be edited.
  4. Share the link on WhatsApp with a line first, like "I wrote you something".

There’s a walkthrough with screenshots in how to send a virtual gift on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions about love letters

Are these letters real?

Yes. They were written on Rosify. We changed names and removed anything that could identify someone. The rest is as it was written.

What should I write in a love letter?

Something only the two of you get, a small confession and a promise you can keep. About 100 words is plenty: that’s the length of a typical letter.

How do I write to my boyfriend without sounding cheesy?

Write the way you talk. Letters 3 and 8 use real, slightly messy language, and that’s why they don’t sound cheesy.

Can I copy one of these letters?

Yes. The button copies only the letter. Change the nickname, the memory and the promise, or it’ll still be someone else’s letter.

What if my partner lives far away?

Read letters 4, 5 and 6. Describe what you’ll do when you meet instead of counting the miles.

Can I send it on WhatsApp?

Yes. Paste it into the chat, or create it in Rosify and share the link. They don’t need to install anything.
